Trainer: Jon Maxwell (Head of Design & Technical, Norfolk Museums Service)eightineastlogo

This session is being delivered in partnership with The Eighth in the East, who have made a number of places on the course available for the wider SHARE community.

This practical workshop from the Norfolk Museums & Archaeology Service display team is ideal for any staff and volunteers involved in displaying museum objects. It will include an introduction to why display is important for museums, basic kit demonstration for making standardised displays in museums, and examples of good display techniques. You will also learn how to develop text that is seen and gets read.

By the end of the course participants will have an awareness of why good  display techniques are essential for their museum. They will have explored examples of good display techniques, learnt effective practice when putting together a display, had hands on experience of the tools involved in developing a display and will be confident in returning to their museums and being able to put their new display technique skills into practice.

Refreshments will be provided but please bring a packed lunch or make your own arrangements.

Please note: Due to the limited number of places available on this course, for the time being we are only able to confirm one place per museum. If you would like to request a second place, please do fill in the booking form and leave a note in the “comments” box, and we will be in touch if additional places are available closer to the date.
