A one day workshop to equip people with the skills and knowledge in how best to mentor and coach others either within their organisation, or in museums that they mentor or support.
The workshop will include:
- Learn the difference between mentoring and coaching, and how you can use these techniques to support your museums
- How to tell which method is appropriate and when to use them
- How to ensure that you protect yourself from being overwhelmed by the demands of your museum
- Practice these techniques to help you use them once you are back at your museum
Trainer: Hilary McGowan
Hilary McGowan has run her own business for 20 years and has extensive experience of being a coach and a mentor. She is the leading governance consultant in the museums sector following a distinguished career as a museum director in York, Exeter and Bristol. She is known for her lively and engaging workshops and aims to leave you feeling positive and resilient.
