Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre
The SHARE Conservation and Archaeology Networks are pleased to announce a joint visit to the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre.
“The History Centre brings together the archaeology, archive, buildings record, conservation, and museum advisory services together with the county local studies library to create a centre whose sum is much more than that of its parts.” (http://www.wshc.eu/)
The Centre has very generously offered to host thirty people for a day of tours, presentation and discussion. Please look at the ‘services’ page on their website for more information about what they do.
Places will be first offered to the Conservation Network and the Archaeology Network. Any spare places after January the 6th will be opened to the rest of the SHARE community.
The visit is free. Tea and coffee will be provided but you will need to bring your own lunch and make your own travel arrangements. The History Centre is conveniently located on the same road as the station servicing the main train line from Paddington and is about ten minutes walk.
There will be two main themes for the day.
1. Working with shared building and services.
2. Archaeological archiving and care of archaeological finds.
