This hands-on course from the Costume & Textiles Network will examine how to make costume look “right”, taking into consideration the condition of an object, the period shape, making sure things are placed in an accurate context and looking at techniques of how to mount safely within a tight budget.
- Learn best practice relating to the stability and suitability for display
- Examine the decision process of looking at what to display and mount
- Practice basic mounting techniques using the provided costumes and mannequins
Participants should be staff or volunteers currently working with costume and textiles in their museum.
Morning refreshments will be provided, but please make your own arrangements for lunch.
