Norwich Castle Museum & Art Gallery
This autumn Norwich Castle Museum & Art Gallery will host Curiosity: Art and the Pleasures of Knowing, a Hayward Touring exhibition, in collaboration with Turner Contemporary, curated by Brian Dillon. This is an exhibition devoted to wonder, awe and mystery in contemporary art and beyond.
Visit the NMAS website to read more about the exhibition.
In conjunction with this exhibition, the NMAS Art Department are staging an interdisciplinary study day with talks from local and national academics and curators. The show, and the study day, aim to explore not only the abstract nature of Curiosity as an impulse but also the contents of our museum collections and the activities that we, as museum professionals, organise.
SHARE Museums East are pleased to be able to offer ten places on this exciting event to museum staff in the East of England. These places are aimed at museums and galleries with art collections. Delegates should be curatorial or exhibitions staff directly involved with art collections and/or exhibitions.
- gain an insight into this exhibition, which spans multiple time periods and disciplines, and consider it as a potential platform for developing future projects.
- have an opportunity to hear about facilitating a touring exhibition and working closely with national partners.
- learn how to modify a pre-packaged exhibition to obtain greater relevance to specific audiences and venues.
- have a chance to network with museum professionals from the region and beyond.
