The Long Shop Museum
The next meeting of the Heritage Engineering Network will be at Leiston Long Shop, and the main theme of the day will be ‘engaging the public with engineering and science’.
The Long Shop staff will be sharing their experience of their Arts Council Funded ‘Making it Work’ project – they will be talking about the project activities, including working with and creating STEM resources for schools, family activities, the Leiston Men’s Shed, and the Makers’ Fair Event taking place on 28th August.
As always, the great thing about HEN meetings is the feedback and experience of how others have done things – so that will be an important element of the day. We have invited an input from other ‘Men’s Shed’ schemes in the region and hope to explore how these might help bring in volunteers to other Museums whilst providing important social interaction for ‘men of a certain age’! The usual roundtable on current topics and exploring key themes for HEN over the coming months will be followed by a chance to renew acquaintance with the excellent Long Shop displays and exhibitions.
Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
Bookings are closed for this event.
