John Bunyan Museum
Trainer – Shirley Collier (coach, mentor, museum consultant).
The training is for any museum staff and museum friends groups wishing to strengthen the level of support they offer one another. The day should ideally be attended by the Chair of the Friends Group and the Museum Manager together, in order to fully benefit from the training. Museums wanting to start a new friends group will also benefit from attending this course.
The course provides an overview of different ways Friends Groups can work, including legal constitution, and explores collaborative working as the basis for enduring success. Common scenarios and challenges will be highlighted, as well as developing roles and action planning.
By the end of the course participants will have an understanding of;
- The role and constitution of a good Friends Group
- The challenges faced by many Museums and Friends Groups, and how to overcome these
- How to produce their own plan of action to implement their learning
Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Booking for this event will go live from 1st September.
