The Heritage Engineering Network

The Network supports the management and delivery of specialised skills in museums and other bodies who carry out working activities with machinery in the area of industrial heritage.
The agenda will be fairly open, with discussions and open forums.
The morning will cover volunteer recruitment and retention. The session will be led by Dick Waylen, talking about volunteer recruitment at the Museum of Power, and Sheldon Paquin from the Cambridge Museum of Technology and Museum of Cambridge, whose role that involves managing their volunteers.
Over lunch there will be a chance to have a look around Cambridge Museum of Technology.
The afternoon session will be around sustainability, with discussion led by Dick and Sheldon, with a bit about what their museums have done to become more sustainable for the future.
