The next VCF event will be at Anglesey Abbey just north of Cambridge. The day will feature discussions about volunteering with the National Trust. Topics will include their new online processes, some of the opportunities and volunteering models used at Anglesey Abbey, and the relationship between membership and volunteering. There will also be short presentations from the ACE-funded SWIM (Strengthening the Workforce in Cambridgeshire Museums) programme to recruit and train volunteers and trustees which currently has a focus on increasing diversity.
Refreshments and lunch will be provided.

10.30 – 10.45 Participation in the National Trust
10.45 – 11.15 Changes to the volunteer approach in the house / Volunteer Management Traineeship overview
11.15 – 12.00 Volunteer system and NT (how this is embedded, what it looks like, outcomes from this)
12.00 – 12.45 Lunch & Networking opportunity
12.45 – 14.15 Tour of house (walk to the house takes around 10-15mins) followed by tea and coffee
14.15 – 15.15 Museum volunteering activities in the region, including the SWIM project, with a focus on broadening diversity.
15.15 – 15.45 Open space: National Trust Volunteer Managers, together with a Volunteer, will lead informal discussions on topics suggested earlier in the day.
15.45 – 16.00 SHARE forum: future meeting (Ipswich 15 June) and topics to pursue
