This training course has been organised by SHARE’s Maritime Heritage East Network, and is aimed in the first instance at members of the network.
The course will cover:
- Identifying issues with handling historic plates and prints
- Scanning plates and prints
- Techniques for dealing with missing image areas and scratches
- Improving overall presentation of images
- Formats for digital images
By the end of the course participants will understand issues that may arise with historic photographs, will be able to develop a strategy for scanning and storing the scanned images, will understand the basics of digital processing, be aware of some issues which may arise in the future and will be able to develop their skills with their own chosen digital processing package.
First priority will be given to members of the Maritime Heritage East network but non-members are welcome. Please indicate whether you are an MHE member in the Comments section of the booking form.
