In a collaboration with Museums Essex SHARE is delighted to be able to welcome three highly experienced professionals who will significantly develop our understanding of the contemporary issues facing those with a responsibility for museum security.
This informal seminar will examine what can be done both locally and nationally to safeguard collections; consider issues of collections insurance and conclude with a round table discussion on what SHARE and others can do to support further development in this area.
Lunch is included.
- Explore the myths and realities of museum crime
- Develop their approach to and understanding of security issues facing the museum sector
- Consider what practical things museums can do immediately to increase security
- Examine difficult questions of collections valuation and insurance
