The training is for all museums staff, volunteers and those involved with the care of collections.
The course will introduce the principles of identifying what can be frozen and which materials which cannot be frozen. It will explore best practice techniques for textile packing to ensure pest free success every time. The morning will be theory based with an emphasis on practical applications in the afternoon.
By the end of the course participants will have an understanding of;
- Why there is a need to freeze objects
- To identify when to do so
- To be able to utilise these ideas learned at their own site
- Use the hand-outs provided as a toolkit for future reference
Tea and coffee provided but bring your own lunch.
