This course will run over two days in two terms, one day in November and one in February. Two parallel courses will run, one in the north-west of the region and the other in the south-east.
This booking is for the SE group, with the first meeting on 7th November and the second date to be decided by the group.
The course is for Museum staff/volunteers who are committed to working in close collaboration with local schools to support them deliver the new curriculum. The introductory session will look at how schools are approaching the new national curriculum and give participants opportunities to start looking at how they could shape their current museum offer to meet the new curriculum requirements. After this session, Participants will then be expected to work with a local school to research how their museum can support that school with the new curriculum. At the second session, participants will feedback their research so everyone can share their experiences.
Participants need to be familiar with the planned curriculum changes and are encouraged to bring along a partner from their local school.
By the end of the course participants will
