Event Details

Museum shops are an integral part of the visitor experience and when managed successfully, provide vital revenue streams.

This workshop will focus on buying for your retail outlets and will be delivered by retail expert Henri Davis. Henri has worked with national retail giants managing branding, packaging and buying. She joined the National Trust, buying stationery, gifts and cards for the Gift Shops in 2003. Her extensive knowledge of the stationery, gift, card and souvenir industries, means she hits the ground running to deliver immediate results. In this workshop Henri will be keen to share her experience and expertise to help your museum shop become or continue to be successful.

There will also be a case study and shared experience by Lisa Avis, provoking some thought into ethical and eco-friendly merchandise. Lisa helps run the shop for the UK Antarctic Heritage Trust in the Antarctic.

The day has been designed to inspire confidence in developing buying and aims to help museums of all sizes to identify the steps they need to take to maximise the effectiveness of their retail offer.

This event is for decision makers with retail responsibilities, both volunteers and paid members of staff.

Please note that the sign-up form has some additional questions, which the trainer has requested and which will help feed into the day.
