The SHARE Volunteer Coordinators Forum is delighted to announce that Rob Jackson will be joining us as a guest speaker to talk about the executive role in successful volunteer management. Rob is a leading authority on volunteering and is well respected internationally as a writer, speaker and trainer.
As volunteer coordinators we work daily with some amazing people. Whether that is within a volunteer-led museum or as a paid member of staff the challenges are similar.
Recognising the input of volunteers and embedding the work and management of volunteers into the future plans of our museums is crucial to their survival. Having the conversations with senior managers that make this happen are not always easy.
Come along and hear what Rob has to say on this subject. You will have the chance to ask him questions afterwards. After Rob’s session we will have a facilitated discussion led by Linda Brandish which will allow us to further discuss this important subject, share experiences and maybe come away with a few ideas.
This event is for all those who work with teams of volunteers in museums. They could be a paid member of staff or a volunteer themselves. By the end of the session you will understand the importance of embedding volunteering in a museum from the top down, including with trustees and senior managers.
Lunch and refreshments are provided.
