There is probably not a museum in the region which is not challenged by the storage of its collections. Hosted by Saffron Walden Museum, who are themselves in the process of developing a new museums store, this SHARE seminar offers an opportunity to explore this thorny issue with your peers.
We will hear from some of the collections managers in the region that have wrestled with the subject. The day will include presentations, workshops and informal discussions designed to help museums learn from one another’s mistakes, share ideas and explore practical solutions.
Participants will have the opportunity to discuss:
- starting the process
- working within room and budget constraints
- designing space
- commissioning contractors
- considerations of open storage
Morning refreshments will be provided, but please make your own arrangements for lunch.
This event is fully booked.
