Trainer – Shirley Collier (coach, mentor, museum consultant).
The training is for Museum Trustees, whether experienced or new to the role. All will benefit from attending this session. Museum managers and any other staff and volunteers are also very welcome to attend with their trustees.
Never under-estimate how important Trustees are for independent museums! We know it’s a role that comes with many challenges and rewards, and we thank you for your unwavering dedication.
This session is designed to support you in your work, by focussing on and sharing what works, as well as addressing some of the more challenging aspects, like succession planning and recruitment. It will be facilitated by Shirley Collier, an independent coach, mentor and consultant, who is herself a trustee of several different organisations. Shirley has worked with several museums in the east of England to support their trustees in making the most of their skills and attracting new ones to strengthen the board.
By the end of the day delegates will have an understanding of;
- The AIM golden rules
- Strategies for succession planning and trustee recruitment
- What makes a strong Chair-CEO relationship
- Other sources of support
- Networking with other local trustees
Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
