The judging panel met in May for a day of deliberations at Ashwell Museum in Hertfordshire, and they made 16 awards across the 8 categories. Wednesday 6th June saw the Museum of East Anglian Life hosting an afternoon tea and celebration afternoon for all the nominees and 150 people came to the party. The awards were presented by Robyn Llewellyn (Heritage Lottery Fund, East of England) and also two of this year’s judges: Kathy Fawcett (Arts Council England) and Jeremy Thackray (Centre for Computing History).
As usual, all the volunteers nominated were obviously a great asset to their museums and it was a lovely opportunity to thank them for all their work.
The awards this year were as follows:
Collections Champion Award
The Collections Team at Epping District Museum, and Barry Knight of St Albans Museums
Volunteer Leadership Award
Lib Fox of Colchester and Ipswich Museums, and Julia Good of St Albans Museums
